Solarium versus our health |
||
|
Solariums are enclosed sun beds built with light tubes that emit UVA and UVB radiation from above and below your body. The skin is the largest organ in our body and his role is to protect us against heat and light, injury, infection, and pollution. And so we must take good care of our skin, maintaining it at the best level of hydration. A tanned skin is something a lot of women and men desire. Society often judges the people by the way they dress and look. But is healthier and bolder not to become a fashion victim in order to achieve appreciation. A solarium uses electricity to produce concentrated artificial ultraviolet radiation. The UV radiation causes skin cells to make pigment. Tanning happens more rapidly from a solarium to sun tanning because of the high intensity of the UV radiation emitted. Scientists say that solariums are responsible for premature skin aging and skin cancer. There are two kinds of Ultraviolet rays, the UVA and the UVB. Of these, the UVB rays are more dangerous to your health. Prolonged exposure can cause sunburn and lead to skin cancer. It is important to keep this mind when going for a tanning session. Solariums need to be treated with a good degree of caution. Many people use them as they prefer to have a suntan and to maintain it, regardless of the risks involved. Apart from a suntan year-round, solariums only present potential problems and risks to those who use them. If you insist on using a solarium be sure you wear protective goggles to prevent your eyes from being permanently damaged. You should also wear sunscreen cream. You must not use tanning beds if: you have cardiac problems, freckles and beauty spots and if you’re pregnant or claustrophobic. In order to obtain the same effect of golden tint of natural color there are cosmetic tan creams. There are no restrictions in using tan creams as there are in the solarium way. |
