In 1946 Louis Reard presented a new bathing suit made of two pieces named Bikini after a small island in the south of Pacific. This was a unique bathing suit named “the smallest bathing suit in the world”. It measured only 70 centimeters.

Marilyn Monroe, Brigitte Bardot, Ursula Andress, then Glodie Hawn, Bette Midler and Carrie Fisher wore novel types of bikini and made them very popular.
