Fashion statement: pants for women

Andre Courreges is a French fashion designer that revolutionized fashion world with his great designs such as: the miniskirt and the women pants.
Rules are meant to be broken.
For example, the pants were not for women. In Europe and United States the ordinary pants made until recently the difference between men and women.

The only women who were allowed to wear pants were those working in coal mines and the cow-women. Pants were really introduced in fashion by Katherine Hepburn and Marlene Dietrich.

In 1960 Andre Courreges made a very brave gesture showing women wearing pants in his haute-couture fashion show.

Since then, the chic pants and jeans for women are constant must-haves in every woman’s wardrobe.
