Fendi - luxury, prestige and style |
||
|
Fendi is a synonym of fur and revolution, two apparently contradictory concepts. One of the characteristics of the Fendi label is the company’s unusual way of working with traditional skins. The story of Fendi begins back in 1925 in Rome with a fur and leather workshop, owned by Edoardo and Adele Fendy. The true protagonists of Fendi’s success are the five daughters of the Fendi couple: Paola, Anna, Franca, Carla and Alda, who made the Fendi label famous. Over the years Fendi has designed costumes for both cinema and theater: The age of Innocence, 1993; Futuro di Donna, 1984; The Godfather, 1999; Evita, 1996, starring Madonna. Silvia Venturini Fendi, Anna’s daughter, together with Karl Lagerfeld pursued the Fendi tradition of research in furs. Fendi, prêt-à-porter Fall – Winter 2008 collection took place in Milan, proposing forest colors: purple tones, brown, black, grey and the smashing gloss that was used in the furs, gold and silver. This collection underlines the idea of prêt-à-porter, with shoulders that became very round, transmitting the taste of severe opulence. It is not over the top or extravagant but it is true luxury. For the bags, the designers have used organic materials starting with mineral stones, which were also used for belts. Turtleneck dresses, ruffled leather jackets and heavy knit sweaters are the top pieces of this new collection. |
